The beer festival is a really pleasant summer time event with lots of local beers on a nice inner city square. The weekend long craft beer fest is organised in early June and in mid September. Fozdefeszt is open from noon to midnight all three days of the beer festival. But if you visit Budapest later in June, don’t despair, you can still enjoy the Czech Beer Festival in Budapest.

The festival started off as a smallish but enthusiastic craft beer fest, growing year by year (this is the 7th time that Fozdefeszt is organised.) After all it aims to revolutionise what Hungarians know as the best Hungarian beers. Every year there are about two dozens of Hungarian breweries showcasing over 70 types of beers from new lagers and Irish reds, through wheat beers and bocks, to fig-beer, millet-beer, and even William’s pear beer.

Let’s not forget about the dense corn-beer with more than 55% corn used.

We have an illustrious list of guests as well. The British Embassy and BeerBier pub will bring us two types of real ale from Fuller’s, Sörmanufaktúra – the
German Beer Shop – will bring us an assortment of some of the best Bavarian breweries including Schneider Weisse and Camba Bavaria. Pivo and Hrabal, the best of Budapest’s Czech pubs will tap a nice collection of Czech beers including beers from Zatec, Koutsky and Vyskov.
